Your Questions Answered

All the Information You Need to Know

Are your practitioners certified professionals?

Our interdisciplinary team has certifications and accreditations from all areas of healthcare.  From Registered Nurses, LPNs, PCA (Patient Care Technicians), and Companions, all members of the Boston Nursing Care & Consulting team have the same focus of providing the best care within the boundaries of their license(s).  All team members do have their CPR AED and First Aid certifications from the American Heart Association, along with other certifications/licenses particular to their specialties and areas of focus.

What should I consider when choosing a home health care provider?

Welcoming others into your home to care for your loved one is not only nerve-wracking, but it takes trust and the understanding that those entering your home have all the right intentions.  Boston Nursing Care & Consulting understands this and only recruited the highest quality caregivers.

What sets us apart from other Home Care companies is that all our caregivers go through a scrutinizing background check, followed by multiple rounds of interviews, professional and personal reference checks, driving records, and are required to submit a personal statement of why they wish to care for our clients.  Our unique hiring process yields only the highest quality and best trained individuals, who have your loved one's best interests at heart.

Additionally, our homemakers and Home Health Assistant are nursing, pre-med, and pre-PA students.  Why do we do this?  We only hire individuals with strong clinical experience.  All nursing students who work as Home Health Assistants are required to have completed their Fundamentals of Nursing class prior to entering into a client's home. Likewise, our pre-med and pre-PA student Home Health Assistants are required to have had clinical experience prior to serving in the Home Health Assistant role.  Additionally, all our Home Health Assistants are required to complete dementia care training, ADL training, post-stroke/brain injury training, and home health care basics via our training program.

Do you provide free consultations before we decide on a home care professional?

During your initial free intake call, a Registered Nurse on our leadership team will review and assess your loved one's needs.  With this initial call, we will answer any questions you have, explain all our service offerings, and create a Care Plan that will be used as the road map for your loved one's needs.

After this call, we build a team of caregivers that best fits our client's needs.  Your team of caregivers may be comprised of several members of our team or only one specialty.  Regardless, you will receive the bios and backgrounds of all your caregivers within 36 hours of your intake call.

Do you accept Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid?

At this time, BNC&C is private pay only, however our clients are able to seek reimbursement by their insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid for home-based services.  We are in the process of becoming a Medicare, Medicaid and insurance-accepting agency and hope to soon offer this as an option for our clients. Additionally ,we are int he process of becoming a VA and MassHealth vendor.  This means that those who would qualify for VA and MassHealth could use their designated hours with Boston Nursing Care & Consulting.  We will continue to update you as we grow closer to this goal!
